JOHN MASON

(American, b. 1927)
lives and works in Los Angeles since 1949


The artist is a major figure in ceramic sculpture emerging in the middle part of the 1950s where he was associated with Susan Peterson and Peter Voulkos. Considered leaders of a movement that transformed clay to a fine art, Mason’s work is widely known and exhibited.
