Cirrus Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition of new paintings by Gillian Theobald. Whether in form of nature, the works express a feeling moved by redemptive and transcendent transformation. Her exploration of interior worlds is reflected in sources as diverse as the cellular worlds of biochemistry and the circular imagery rife in the radiation therapy room.
In a dark time, the eye begins to see, I meet my shadow in the deepening shade; I hear my echo in the echoing wood… – Theodore Roethke
How we as humans interface with shapes and forms remains a key theme in Theobald’s work. She juxtaposes the way things are connected through visual networks and the importance of music to the artist. The poly-rhythmic music in the form of linear elements connects the viewer to a listening experience. The exhibition will be on view from April 10th through June 5th, 2010.
